Neumann/Smith
designed a professionally equipped theatre for the Jewish Community Center (JCC)
which will enhance its existing nationally prominent program offerings and
create opportunities for countless new programs reaching out to both the
Jewish and general communities. With the new theatre, the JCC is also
announcing the creation of the JCC School for the Performing and Fine Arts,
which will make its home in the new facility.
A circular drop-off and ramped entry welcome visitors into a grand lobby.
The Center features an auditorium with 350 permanent sloped seats,
expandable spaces to accommodate 600 people, a fly system and wings, a
computerized lighting system and state-of-the-art sound and acoustics.
Support spaces include
a full backstage with dressing rooms, a green room, a shop and space for
storing costumes, sets and props, offices for staff and a box office serving
all JCC events.
