The redesign of parking lots and vehicular city streets that once bisected and separated the various buildings on DTE's downtown campus now provides nine acres of green space and pedestrian corridors that connect once separated buildings into a a cohesive corporate neighborhood which artfully integrates the architecture and site design

 

Three arches frame the main driveway, gently spilling water into a 26,000-square-foot reflecting pond.  The new outdoor environment also features a grassed amphitheater, a Butterfly/Peace Garden, and a Southeast Garden with interconnected walking paths through a landscape of intricately mounded earth.

 

A commanding new lobby, 60 feet high and 165 feet wide, is set under a cantilevered roof that shades the completely transparent, canted front wall and acts symbolically as a “front porch,” an expression of welcome worldwide.

 

A new, glass-enclosed Town Square connects three vintage buildings in the complex and is the heart of a vibrant food-service and conference center .
