In a move to grow it’s Detroit office, law firm Jones Day chose to centrally locate, and renovate the 21st floor of 150 West Jefferson.
Wanting an office with “Detroit character,” and the ability to host large gatherings and receptions within the suite, Neumann/Smith helped the firm with an interior renovation that made it possible to move 25 attorneys, plus support staff, into a space with generous conference facilities downtown Detroit.
Planning and design work included updating the elevator lobby with automotive paint and stone feature walls, creating an expansive reception area with hardwood flooring and a custom reception desk with an automotive esthetic and custom cast glass decorative panel.
The main conference room with a skyline view is surrounded by an acoustical, operable glass partition and includes modular fold-and-roll conference tables for flexibility.
Attorney suites include adjustable height/sit-to-stand desks and extensive use of clerestories and glass partitions to bring daylight into interior spaces. A large break room with exposed ceiling construction, movable kitchen island, and banquette seating adds opportunities for collaboration to the space.
