Creative Marketing Manager

Neumann/Smith Architecture, an award-winning architectural and interior design firm in Southfield, is looking for an accomplished, strategic, creative, marketing professional with experience developing marketing communication plans, materials, and strategies to grow business and strengthen client relationships. Must be extremely thorough in organizing, communicating, and managing strategic initiatives such as project pursuits, public relations, social media, marketing assets, and collateral. This individual will thrive in supporting business development and firm-wide team efforts, and seasoned in producing qualifications packages, RFP responses, and developing presentations.

Responsibilities include all aspects of marketing, internal and external communications, branding, business development support, and managing workload for the department.

Daily Functions, not limited to:

  • Brand management.
  • Lead weekly Sales and Marketing meetings.
  • Provides research/writing assistance as needed, including ghostwriting for operations personnel and document editing.
  • Coordinate and creatively produce proposals, qualifications packages, and other marketing materials; includes writing, editing, and coordination with in-house staff and outside consultants.
  • Regularly communicate with industry associations to submit project award submittals.
  • Graphic design.
  • Research, recommend and implement public relations and social media opportunities.
  • Schedule, organize, and maintain project-related photography and video.
  • Write and issue news releases on notable events (project awards, milestones, etc.).
  • Coordinate advertising needs.
  • Coordinate convention needs and attend as appropriate.
  • Coordinate employee morale functions and company events.
  • Assist with special projects or assignments.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in proposal/presentation experience in professional services marketing.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Social Media campaign initiatives and experience
  • Attention to detail and proven experience in managing multiple deadlines and project teams, as evidenced by work history and references.
  • Adobe Creative Suite proficient (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat).
  • MS Office proficient (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • WordPress proficient.

Ken loved architecture and was a role model and mentor for countless architects. His many accomplishments included a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University, the AIA Michigan Gold Medal, the AIA Detroit Gold Medal, the AIA Detroit Charles Blessing Award, and the Martin Luther King Social Justice Award from Ferris State University.

The Kenneth Neumann Design Scholarship was established in his honor to provide scholarships for graduate architecture students from the University of Michigan, University of Detroit Mercy and Lawrence Technological University schools of architecture.
