PROJECT ARCHITECT

We are currently seeking a Project Architect with substantial professional skills acquired from prior work experience. This person will support projects in the development of concepts, which are incorporated into a final product in conjunction with the work of other architects and technicians. This position is also responsible for developing technical construction documents in Revit and CAD, as necessary, and coordinating with consultants. Applicants must be available to interview in-person at our location if selected.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Strong technical ability to develop, coordinate, and review construction documentation for complex design solutions.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and ADA requirements.
  • Works well under deadline pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient/Advanced REVIT skill set.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-10 years of architectural experience.
  • 5 years minimum experience in Revit developing models and technical details.
  • Previous commercial, higher education, retail, wood construction, etc. experience preferred.

DESIGNER

We are currently seeking a Designer with substantial professional development acquired from prior work experience. Our work requires innovative thinkers who possess strong communication skills and graphic abilities, as well as the ability to work across multiple disciplines, a variety of building types, and offer critical thinkers a unique opportunity to explore design in a collaborative office environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Generate new concepts and create fresh ideas on a variety of project types to meet client requirements.
  • Experience in all phases of the design process including execution of conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Work collaboratively in a Design Team to establish quality design solutions.
  • Ability to research and select proper building materials that will enhance design.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Professional degree in architecture, design or related discipline
  • At least 5 years of design experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCad, Revit, 3D Modeling, 3-D Studio Max is a plus, Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and SketchUp.
  • Ability to work and thrive in an open, collaborative, and fast paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and graphic communication skills and ability to work within diverse teams of designers.
  • Self-motivated personality to take on projects and assignments without the need for the micromanagement of a supervisor.
  • A variety of experience in commercial work: higher education, retail, multi-unit housing, mixed-use, and office.

KEN NEUMANN DESIGN SCHOLARSHIP

Ken was a gifted architect who gave generously of his time to advance the profession.

Ken loved architecture and was a role model and mentor for countless architects. His many accomplishments included a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University, the AIA Michigan Gold Medal, the AIA Detroit Gold Medal, the AIA Detroit Charles Blessing Award, and the Martin Luther King Social Justice Award from Ferris State University.

The Kenneth Neumann Design Scholarship was established in his honor to provide scholarships for graduate architecture students from the University of Michigan, University of Detroit Mercy and Lawrence Technological University schools of architecture.
