As the flagship location for TomTom’s North American operations, the office was envisioned as a multifunctional space that supports client engagement and team collaboration. The renovated space features a welcoming reception area, a dedicated client demonstration zone, and redesigned workspaces that support a range of work styles. By incorporating new meeting areas, focus rooms, and a test lab, the workplace better reflects TomTom’s forward-thinking culture and dynamic workplace experiences.

The design merges two office suites into a unified environment that prioritizes flexibility and innovation. By reducing the number of traditional workstations, the layout makes room for focus rooms, test labs, ideation zones, and versatile gathering spaces.

The open-concept client entry was designed for visibility and versatility. A large bar serves as a striking focal point and anchors the space as an area for presentations and informal gatherings. Surrounding it are a flexible conference table, casual meeting area, and a private conference room with a clear view into the adjacent demonstration garage. The employee side of the office features open workstations, reservable conference rooms, and a work café. Together, these elements support a variety of work styles—from focused individual tasks to collaborative team sessions—while reinforcing a sense of comfort, flexibility, and brand identity.

To bring the European design standards to life in a North American context, the team carefully adapted materials and finishes to meet local codes and availability. The result is a vibrant, tech-forward workspace that reflects TomTom’s values of innovation, well-being, sustainability, biophilia, and acoustic performance.
