renewed lobby restored strength
Corewell Health Rose Cancer Center
The Rose Cancer Center lobby renovation at William Beaumont University Hospital brings a fresh, uplifting design aligned with Corewell Health’s standards. Light colors, tile flooring, and updated resource spaces create a welcoming environment for patients, families, and survivors. The reimagined center promotes comfort and connection at every touchpoint, from private consultations to peaceful outdoor access.
vision
The design centers on healing, with selections that support comfort, connection, and hope. Calming palettes, wall coverings, natural materials, and adaptable spaces come together for a sense of calm in the space. From private consultation areas to wellness-focused rooms, the environment empowers patients with thoughtful support throughout their care journey.
detail
Preserved from the original lobby, the mosaic mural—created by patients, survivors, and families—remains a meaningful element in the renovated space. The resource center offers a private office for research or one-on-one conversations and opens to an outdoor patio. Nearby, the flexible conference room supports a range of uses, from meetings to support groups and wellness activities like yoga.
secret
Several years before the lobby renovation, Neumann/Smith also designed the Rose Cancer Center’s drop-off canopy and entrance expansion. In a video from Corewell Health, their team offers a look inside the refreshed space and shares the heartfelt purpose behind the work—highlighting how design can inspire hope and support those impacted by a cancer diagnosis.
